As part of the interdisciplinary project on the theme of “Vienna” the 4AC students visited the UNO-City in Vienna, where the International Atomic Energy Agency is convening this week. Representatives from all 193 member states are gathering in the plenary session to discuss various topics.
During a guided tour, the young people learned interesting facts about the United Nations, its work and its goals. Vienna, together with New York, Geneva and Nairobi, is one of the four United Nations Headquarters. In an interactive workshop the students engaged with the 17 sustainable development goals and could express their own opinions on poverty alleviation and efforts for peace and justice. They were accompanied by their exchange student Nicole Fernandes from Brazil, their English teacher Dr. Martina Krammer and their Geography teacher Mag. Sabine Rohrer.
